Bullet Journal Set-Up – February 2018

This month, I’ve picked a pink floral washi from my set and the accent color is the light pink Mildliner from the pastel set. As you can see, I’ve gone for a very similar style to my January set up, but changed up the quote and a few small changes in font placement.

Meal Planning in a Bullet Journal

Happy Monday! Today I want to share my method for meal planning by using my bullet journal. If you’re interested in seeing more of my journal, check out the Bullet Journal category of my blog!

I started meal planning around 2 years ago when I got frustrated that I was ending up having to throw out food because I bought more than I could eat before it expired (and I never remember to freeze things until it’s too late). At first it was very casual – making my grocery list based on meals and sticking to the list at the store. Over time, I started to notice what meals I liked the best, cooked most often, and were easiest (fastest) to make, and from that list of go-to meals, my meal planning system was born!

I only meal plan, I do not meal prep. That is something that’s never worked for me, mostly because I hate 90% of leftovers! We’ll see if that changes as I get older and have a larger family to cook for. For now, purchasing things with portions in mind is working perfectly.

The planning pages in my bullet journal consist of 2 full spreads:

Bullet Journal Set-Up – January 2018

Like I mentioned in my 2018 Bullet Journal Set-Up post, I’m using a 12 pc. set of washi tape to create a more consistent look throughout my journal. I think this will help me to learn more about the structure I like most in my journal and not worry as much about being inspired to create a new theme each month. (Prime example: last August I couldn’t come up with a theme, so the theme became “random” and my month cover page was a drawing of a hippo blowing a bubble out of its nose – which was my husband’s idea.)

Face Mask Challenge 2018 Intro

Skincare Confession: I own 22 different face masks.

I have very dry skin and really enjoy a good mask to treat and protect my face. My skin seems to have become a little less sensitive than it was in my teen years, so I’m able to use a lot of different styles of masks, and I seem to have taken it to heart because I own way too many of them. Luckily, many of these masks are 1 oz or less, received in ipsy bags, Sephora rewards, or holiday sets, but still – I only have one face!

So this year, along with my Project Pan, I’ll be doing a face mask challenge!Read More »

2018 Bullet Journal Set-Up

Today, I’d like to share pages from my 2018 bullet journal set-up!

This is my third year using a bullet journal, and this year I decided to really try and find an aesthetic that I liked and stick to it throughout the year. I tend to like more minimal layouts with a touch of calligraphy and washi tape. I found a beautiful 12 pack of tapes that are all sort of floral and watercolor, and they look really nice together. One of those tapes, paired with one of the Zebra Mildliners will be used for each month’s theme, and in pages that are more year-round will be accented with various gold washi tapes I’ve collected over the past couple of years. I’ll also be using some stickers, of course!Read More »

Project Pan 2018 Intro

For my first trick, I will make my makeup collection shrink! ….slowly!

This year, I’ll be working through my makeup collection, in a rolling project pan.

Key terms:

  • Project Pan: the process of using up items in their collection/stash of products for various reasons. This is done in a ton of different ways, but my main inspirations are from Just Buy The Makeup (Hailey) and KitschSnitch (Kat), whom I found through their joint channel BEAUTY NEWS.
  • Rolling: I will always be focusing on 8 products throughout the year. So, as I meet my goal on a product, I will swap that out for another item.
