Face Mask Challenge 2018 Update #3

Today I’m sharing my third update for my Face Mask Challenge. If you’d like to see my update from February, check it out here!

I missed my first day of the year early on in March. While I was on vacation, I ended up falling asleep before putting on the Clinique overnight mask I brought with me, and that officially ruined my streak!

Throughout the rest of the month, I tried to focus on only one of the overnight masks – the Clinique Moisture Surge – and I am getting so close to finishing it! Hopefully I’ll be able to share that in my next empties post. I will say now – the small tube that I have contains a ton of applications, keeping in mind that I prefer a light-to-medium layer of it most days, since I don’t want my face to stick to my pillow.

I also realized that I was using a few of my most recently purchased masks, so I decided to go through my collection when I got back from vacation and pulled out a couple that need to be used up faster, and put the newest ones away until I have gone through the older ones. I will also not be opening any new masks until I finish up the older ones.

Here’s the four masks I added to the list in the month of March:

  1. Fresh Rose Face Mask
  2. Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil
  3. Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask
  4. a * notation for when I use a sheet mask – this time I specifically used the bonvivant Botanical Mask Pack – Collagen+Olive (which I believe is no longer available)

One of these technically isn’t a mask, it’s a face oil, but I’ve started using it when I want to do a nice, long facial massage a la Lisa Eldridge, so I include it as a skin treat like any other face mask I own.

Overall, in March I used nine different masks:

I finished up the Fresh mask on April 1st, so I’ll include my review on it in my next empties post on April 26.

Overall, I’ve used these 12 masks:

My goals for April are to:

  • finish up the Clinique overnight and PTR Rose masks
  • use up my one remaining sheet mask
  • not add any further masks to the list of ones I’ve used this year

As it’s getting warmer and allergies are kicking in, I like using cooling masks to decrease puffiness. What’s your favorite gel or cooling mask? Let me know in the comments what your favorite is and if you have tried any of the masks I’ve been using so far!

P.S. Here’s some referral links to some of my favorite sites. Use if you’d like!

  • Ebates – This is a great way to earn cash back from online shopping (that you’re already doing) at many of your favorite stores! (Including Sephora & Ulta!) If you join through this link and make a purchase of $25 or more, you’ll get an extra $10 cash back and I’ll get $15, as well as your own referral code.
  • thredUP – I love using thredUP to clean out my closet and shop for new pieces at a discounted price – sometimes they’re even brand new with tags! When you join thredUP through this link, you get $10 to spend and I get $10 to shop after you place your first order.
  • StitchFix – This is a great way to try out some new items for your closet, without the hassle of going to the stores and the bonus of a personal stylist. If you sign up with this link, you’ll get a FREE styling fee (usually $20) on your first Fix, and I’ll get $25 credit once it ships.
